Silver Metal Clay Taster Workshop - Saturday March 1st, 10am to 5pm

Please note in order to attend this Workshop you must have completed a Silver Metal Clay Taster or Introduction to Silver Alchemy Workshop in order that you already have an understanding of the material & process.

In the Workshop Learn how to make beautiful Fine Silver rings, learning about the sizing/shrinkage, well made joints, adding ring tops etc.

Precious Metal Clay (Metal Clay) represents a dramatic development in the handling of precious metals. Metal Clay consists of microscopic particles of silver suspended in an organic binder to create a pliable material with a consistency similar to modelling clay. Metal Clay can be worked with the fingers and simple inexpensive tools to create a vast range of forms and surfaces that would be unattainable or laborious with traditional techniques.

When heated to a high temperature, the binder burns away and the metal particles fuse to form solid metal that can be sanded, soldered, coloured and polished like conventional material.

Metal Clay once finished is 99.9% pure silver & can be hallmarked as such, it's a purer form of silver than the common Sterling Silver often found on the high street.

In this workshop you will make a minimum of one ring but depending on size of your pieces you could make more.
